Job Role Description
- Supervising in the preparation of ingredients
The Section Head/Team Leader/ Line Operator oversees a team of subordinates and leads the daily operations of the assigned production line. He/She ensures that production targets for the line are met and food products meet required production standards.
He/She monitors the set-up and cleanliness of work stations, schedules work activities, and guides the team on the preparation of ingredients, food products, and packaging. He/She also monitors equipment performance levels and conducts basic troubleshooting.
He/She works in a food production environment and may need to work in shifts. He/She works in accordance with given schedules and operates machinery. He/She is required to stand for long hours and work under extreme hot or cold temperatures.
Tasks
- Assist in the review of standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and work instructions.
- Check food quantities, container formats and materials against production plans.
- Conduct checks online team’s attire and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct regular checks on processes and final products to meet quality standards.
- Correct product or process faults to meet quality standards.
- Determine production parameters and methods to meet manufacturing process requirements.
- Ensure production targets of assigned section are met and food products meet required production standards.
- Guide line team on preparation of ingredients, production, machinery operation and packaging of the food products.
- Identify need to escalate repairs or preventive maintenance to equipment suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor and adjust production process parameters to maintain optimum operational conditions.
- Monitor equipment performance levels and conduct basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Monitor the set-up of work stations for cleanliness and safety compliance with local regulations and company requirements.
- Seek opportunities for improvement and take corrective actions.
- Suggest improvements for equipment setup.
- Train staff on the use of cooking equipment and arrange appropriate training where needed.
