The IT Solutions Engineer/Analyst I is responsible for software and hardware product delivery and performance for all application spaces including next-generation technology such as cloud engineering and mobile applications. Drives products from design completion to volume production release through lifecycle including troubleshooting software and system problems to ensure performance and reliability.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology or related field and 1 year of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Requires basic technical subject matter knowledge within a job area or system

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge, or Qualifications:

  • Experience in Computer Systems or GIS
  • Knowledge of C#, .NET, Python, scripting; database management systems; development platforms (Microsoft)
  • Proven work experience in coding/scripting, software application development/support work experience of 1-2 years preferred.
  • Skills in understanding and explaining basic technical issues and solutions in non-technical terms; working effectively in teams and across organizations; balancing and prioritizing between multiple work streams; collaborating with colleagues and teams in different fields across a diverse organization; solving basic problems in own area of work

Major Accountabilities

  • Supports the design, development, modification, and/or configuration support of Design & Spatial applications and programs. Key Applications are GIS, AutoCAD, Meridian, and Citrix.
  • Fixes applications to meet functional and technical designs following best practices and development standards and guidelines. Documents in accordance with department policies and standards.
  • Analyzes debugs and resolves defects in applications. Provides 24/7 Callout support as needed.
  • Supports production systems, analyzes and resolves production problems in a timely manner; resolves end-user service requests as assigned
  • Completes unit test application changes to ensure the quality of work; tests new features, enhancements, and defect fixes
  • Assists with technical solutions in new implementations and patching of existing applications and infrastructure.
  • Complete minor product enhancements and development of data extracts or reports.

Flex Role:

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic setup are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work. Employees will have two options to choose from: 

  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
  • Home-based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.

*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business needs.
