Major Responsibilities:

• Must be able to autonomously assess, diagnose and treat patients with acute, episodic conditions and wellness prevention services for 12 months of age and older. Common services include, but are not limited to, URIs, UTIs, STIs, immunizations, physical exams, and minor procedures 
• Facilitate waiting room management, registration, and patient rooming processes independently
• Develop, implement and follow up on the treatment plan
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and manage patients accordingly
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, collaborating physicians, store management, and ACW leadership in the delivery of patient care
• Seek opportunities for continuing medical education to maintain licensure, and certifications and deliver evidence-based practice
• Uphold standards for a safe, professional, and organized clinic environment
• Actively contribute to process improvement strategies related to patient experience, patient outcomes, safety, quality metrics, organizational referrals, etc
• Must be available to work rotating weekends

Licensure:

• Active Illinois RN and APRN licenses
• National Board Certification required
• BLS required ACLS and PALS preferred

Education/Experience Required:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing
• Prefer 1-year clinical experience in the area of specialty
• This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients and provide age-appropriate care.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Well-developed written skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Performs adequate psychological and physical assessment of patients.
• National certification in area of specialty (i.e. Family Nurse Practitioner.)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Travel between sites of care- may be requested to work at nearby Advocate Clinic at Walgreens retail clinics
• Flexible hours
• Work under conditions requiring quick decision-making in a fast-paced environment  
• The candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients and moving equipment.
• If a position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when the patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
