Andrew Nurnberg Associates was founded in London. They represent authors from around the world in the fields of literary and commercial fiction and general non-fiction, as well as children’s authors. They are now looking for a Publishing Assistant Apprentice in what will be quite an exciting role!

Administration:

  • Managing diaries, including arranging appointments, team meetings, and organizing schedules (e.g., book fairs and trips) 
  • General office administration e.g., photocopying, filing, arranging couriers and transport, and taking telephone/email messages
  • Managing and updating the Editor’s database
  • Being the main point of contact in the department for BP (Bradbury Philips Database)
  • Inputting data onto/extracting data from, BP (training will be given)
  • Maintaining the PR / lit festival spreadsheet 
  • Maintaining the film/tv bulletin distribution list 
  • Liaising with agents regarding administrative matters 
  • Providing support at author signings and events as requested  
  • Taking minutes for department meetings and circulating as directed 
  • Covering reception as needed

Editorial: 

  • Attending new project meetings and taking part in discussions around potential new books 
  • Reading submissions and drafting reports on what you have read
  • Helping to compile and then circulate the monthly ANA Newsletter
  • Preparing AIs and other material for submission, for ANA authors and clients with a UK dept point of contact
  • Preparing catalogs and brochures for book fairs (including film/tv brochures)
  • Helping other assistants with social media, with a focus on ANA authors

Entry requirements

You’ll need to attend an online Zoom screening interview with our Talent Team (don’t worry, we’re a friendly bunch!) and pass initial assessments in Maths and English.
