Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Review and Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB) team as part of the Quality and Teaching Excellence (QTE) Service at Northumbria, in a role that supports and ensures high-quality educational provision across all of the University’s four campuses and its overseas collaborative partnerships.

The QTE teams specialize in both internal and external quality assurance processes for all academic programs, as well as academic enhancement and governance. This includes (but is not exclusive to) PSRB accreditation; student surveys; External Examiner reporting; program review, approval, and revision processes; committee management; and policy/regulatory compliance.

There are four teams in QTE with distinct areas of specialism, which work across the whole service and wider University to ensure a joined-up, professional and collaborative approach to the monitoring and assurance of educational standards.

They are Approvals and Revisions; Apprenticeships; Governance & Enhancement; and Review & PSRB. We are recruiting for a full-time permanent role in the Review and PSRB team, acknowledging that some flexibility and the acquisition of shared skills and knowledge to be able to work across all QTE specialisms is encouraged within the service.

An opportunity has also arisen for a fixed-term secondment as Governance and Enhancement Coordinator within Quality and Teaching Excellence (QTE), Student Library, and Academic Services (SLAs).  QTE teams specialize in both internal and external quality assurance processes for all academic programs, as well as academic enhancement and governance.

This includes (but is not exclusive to) student surveys; External Examiner reporting, committee management, policy/regulatory compliance, and staff development projects. Working as part of the Governance and Enhancement team, you will have excellent IT skills, as well as an enthusiastic, ‘can approach and good problem-solving skills.

You will have experience working in a large or complex organization, with good attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks. Knowledge of the Higher Education sector quality assurance processes would be an advantage but is not essential.
