Job Description
Join UChicago Medicine, as a Regulatory Compliance Coordinator in our Transplant Program.
The Transplant Quality and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of transplant care provided at UCM, as well as ensuring compliance with all UNOS, OPTN, CMS, and Joint Commission standards.
This is achieved through effective policy administration, careful evaluation of compliance standards, and the use of change management and performance improvement strategies. This position manages the design.
Development, coordination, and continuous improvement of all clinical quality improvement initiatives and structures systems for the Transplant Center in a manner that supports the achievement of quality goals.
The Transplant Quality and Compliance Coordinator is tasked with responding to regulatory and clinical queries, as well as ensuring continued OPTN membership and CMS Transplant Center approval. Essential functions also include management of risk and promoting patient safety as top programmatic priorities.
Essential Job Functions
- Policy and protocol creation, revision, and implementation. Maintenance of all regulatory and registry records, communications, etc. Competency creation and administration
- Oversight of data entry, maintenance, and analysis. This includes reporting through EPIC and UNet, submission of standardized and payor RFIs, and other organ-specific data collections.
- Survey preparedness, regulatory inquiry responses, assessment of adverse events, and formulation and implementation of corrective action plans.
- Quality indicator/metric construction, analysis, and presentation. This also involves chairing the Transplant QAPI committee with the Transplant Center Medical Director.
- Auditing of required transplant documentation in collaboration with data analyst(s), compliance with UNOS standards, and UCMC transplant policies
- Oversight of clinical staff in the creation and maintenance of patient education materials
- Responsible for operational consent processes and documentation within all transplant and living donor programs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, or Business
- 3-5 Years of experience in solid organ transplantation or organ procurement
