Job Description
Provides high-level technical support for servers, storage area networks, and complex networking environments. Work includes troubleshooting IT infrastructure as well as assisting in analyzing the environment and user requirements to determine the best design solutions.
- Supports operating systems and network, sometimes at odd hours and under pressure. Troubleshoots escalated server, software, and hardware issues onsite.
- Monitors network performance and maintains systems according to requirements.
- Installs and upgrades computer components and software, including applying security patches, managing virtual servers, and integrating automation processes.
- Serve as a technical point of escalation for other Help Desk Technicians on the team as they install, troubleshoot, and resolve problems with key operating systems and applications used by individual staff members within the building, e.g., Microsoft (MS) Windows operating systems, Mac OS, MS Office suite, and various other commonly used applications and software utilities
- Assist the Director of Information Systems in the planning and execution of strategic IT projects, such as fileserver migration, firewall replacement, network upgrades, and the migration of identity management and productivity software from the Feeding America-hosted environment to a tenant solely dedicated to the San Antonio Food Bank
- To assist in analyzing recurring problems and determine solutions to remediate or automate recurring tasks.
- Ensures security through access controls, backups, application of security policies, and firewalls.
- Supports projects required during new technology implementations and for scheduled upgrades. May manage small projects.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored, or accessed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities
- Experience with network and server monitoring, Hyper-V, VMware
- MSCA certification, CCNA certification, Network + or similar level of technical training
- Knowledgeable of MS Windows 7-10 operating system, Mac OS, and MS Office applications
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills. Capable of explaining complex procedures in simple non-technical terms in writing or verbally
- Ability to work alone or participate in a team environment
Preferred
- Experience with Cloud Administration O365 / Azure
- Experience with Cisco Meraki, Aruba, and Ruckus wireless technologies
- Experience with Sonicwall Firewalls
