We have an exciting and rare opportunity for an ambitious and driven individual to join our Communication and Digital Team as a Senior PR and Media Officer. This exciting position will play an essential role in ensuring the delivery of our strategic objectives and ensuring timely and impactful communication.

Media campaigns, and external messaging, and working across the organization to ensure that key campaigns and messages are effectively told across all media activity (including print, broadcast, and online media outlets at national, regional, consumer and trade levels).

Personal stories are the lifeblood of our work and require a strong degree of sensitivity, warmth, and eye for detail. We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with the wider teams to develop and share stories to make a difference, influence decision-makers, and deliver our vision to make a better world for people with epilepsy.

The role is responsible for handling both proactive and reactive media inquiries and developing strong and positive relationships with national, local, and trade journalists. Although there is no direct line management.

Responsibility in this role will act as a key point of contact for more junior members of the team, providing coaching and mentoring to develop and enhance the development of peers and colleagues within the organization.

This position requires:

• 18 months of experience working in a related role
• Understanding of the role of PR and media activity in the voluntary / health sector
• Understanding reputational issues and effectively responding to crisis media stories
• Digitally awareness and ability to work across multiple digital platforms
